August 2008 - Innovation Prize awarded for Royal Australian Mint Design
The Alan Chappel Engineering Innovation Prize for 2008 has been awarded to Anthony Gustafson for his innovative design work for the new materials handling system for the Royal Australian Mint. The design sees numerous world firsts for a Mint, including a multi-axis conveyor distribution system, the worlds largest 6-axis robot and new innovations in coin counting.

April 2008 - Australis wins Royal Australian Mint Contract
In a coup for the company, Australis Engineering has beaten strong competition to win the prestigious Materials Handling & Warehousing system for the newly refurbished Royal Australian Mint in Canberra. Australis will design and install a state-of-the-art system to truly modernise the the Mint using conveyors, multi-axis bucket elevator conveyor, laser guided vehicles and robotics.

August 2007 - R&D Project to develop new Air Conveyor
Australis Engineering has begun R&D of a new Air Conveyor for the PET bottle industry. The aim of the R&D project is to increase the efficiency of the air conveyor while reducing both its manufacture and installation costs.

July 2007 - Colin Peckham joins Australis Engineering
Colin Peckham joined the Australis Engineering team this month in the position of Sales Engineer. Colin brings with him a wealth of experience in the Australian conveyor and manufacturing industry and the management team would like to welcome Colin to the team.

March 2007 - Australis wins steel handling machine contract
Australis Engineering has won a contract to produce steel bar handling equipment for a new venture aiming to revolutionise the construction industry. Australis will be designing and manufacturing the innovative conveyor and handling system for a new plant in Brisbane with additional machines to follow as the concept is released to the market.

June 2006 - Australis to design & install complete Orica Chemical plant
Orica has chosen Australis Engineering to design and manufacture a chemical repackaging plant at its Botany processing site. The plant is designed to repackage HCB (Hexochlorobenezene) into IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container) containers. The project includes drum depalletising, drum and pallet conveyors, palletising of 44 gallon drums and shrink wrapping pallets for packing into shipping containers. Significant innovation was required to ensure the successful operation in a harsh environment and to allow for the safety of both the environment and personnel on site.
