- Engineers Australia, Engineering Excellence Award Australis Engineering
were co-winners (with RA Mint) of a Highly Commended Award for
Engineering Excellence at the Engineers Australia awards
ceremony on 10 September 2009. Phillip Gustafson, Managing
Director said "this is a proud achievement, our first major
award in 26 years and shows that our engineering and
manufacturing expertise in conveyors and integrated materials
handling is right up with the best in the country." Senator Nick
Sherry has said that Royal Australian Mint materials handling
project "... has transformed one of our top attractions into an
engineering showpiece."

Solutions project short listed for Engineers Australia
Excellence Award The Royal Australian
Mint and Australis Engineering have submitted an application for
an Engineering Excellence award to the Engineers Australia,
Canberra Branch for our joint MWHS project. The project has been
reviewed and short-listed for an award. Results will be
announced at a gala dinner in September 2009.

Australis Engineering celebrates 26 years in business Congratulations
Australis Engineering and all of its employees past and present
for achieving 26 years in business. A big thank you to all of
our loyal customers and suppliers for helping to make our

May 2009 - Australis apprentices win TAFE awards
Congratulations to Qui Nguyen and Darren Burton for receiving
Apprentice of the Year awards from TAFE NSW. We are happy to see
their hard work has paid off and that training at Australis
gives our trades people class leading skills!
March 2009 - New director joins Australis Australis is happy to
announce that Peter Gustafson has joined the business in the
role of Business Development Manager and also as a Director.
Peter's role will be to oversee business development and client
focus of our team. We are sure that Peter will being new ideas
and vision to our successful Team.

KUKA Award for RAM robot solution KUKA Germany has
presented Australis Engineering with an Application Award for
SpectacularApplication Ideas & Exceptional Robotic
Solutions for the design and installation of Australia's first
1000kg payload KUKA KR1000 Titan robot as part of the Royal
Australian Mint materials handling and warehousing project.

Innovation Prize awarded for Royal Australian Mint Design The Alan Chappel
Engineering Innovation Prize for 2008 has been awarded to
Anthony Gustafson for his innovative design work for the new
materials handling system for the Royal Australian Mint. The
design sees numerous world firsts for a Mint, including a
multi-axis conveyor distribution system, the worlds largest
6-axis robot and new innovations in coin counting.

Australis wins Royal Australian Mint Contract
In a coup for the company,
Australis Engineering has beaten strong competition to win the
prestigious Materials Handling & Warehousing system for the
newly refurbished Royal Australian Mint in Canberra. Australis
will design and install a state-of-the-art system to truly
modernise the the Mint using conveyors, multi-axis bucket

R&D Project to develop new Air Conveyor Australis Engineering
has begun R&D of a new Air Conveyor for the PET bottle industry.
The aim of the R&D project is to increase the efficiency of the
air conveyor while reducing both its manufacture and
installation costs.

March 2007 - Australis wins steel handling machine contract Australis Engineering has won a
contract to produce steel bar handling equipment for a new
venture aiming to revolutionise the construction industry.
Australis will be designing and manufacturing the innovative
conveyor and handling system for a new plant in Brisbane with
additional machines to follow as the concept is released to the
market.

- Introducing Australis Automation Specialising in industrial and conveyor automation,
Australis Automation aims to be a leading supplier of electrical
and automation systems. With the mechanical expertise of
Australis Engineering and in-depth specialist experience in the
industrial automation, manufacturing and conveyor industries,
Australis Automation can provided full mechatronic systems
including PLC integration, SCADA and HMI, coupled with a full
range of materials handling and conveyor solutions.
June 2006 - Australis to design & install
complete Orica Chemical plant Orica has chosen Australis Engineering to design and
manufacture a chemical repackaging plant at its Botany
processing site. The plant is designed to repackage HCB
(Hexochlorobenezene) into IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container)
containers. The project includes drum depalletising, drum and
pallet conveyors, palletising of 44 gallon drums and shrink
wrapping pallets for packing into shipping containers.
Significant innovation was required to ensure the successful
operation in a harsh environment and to allow for the safety of
both the environment and personnel on site.
